Voltage Regulator
The rectifier/controller has the task to change the generated alternating voltage from the alternator into direct voltage which is used in the eclectrical circuit (12V) and to keep the voltage in a certain tolerance range. This will charge the battery and ensures that the filament bulbs do not burn through. Since this component is subjected to very strong temperature loads, it is usual that it breaks frequently. If it is defective, the battery is constantly empty, for certain ignition systems the ignition system no longer works, incandescent lamps burn permanently or the light flickers.
